Wellness and health have become throw away words, confusing people and robbing them of the opportunity to anchor to something crucial.
The only way to find something is to know what it is
Accordingly, we should all have a working definition of key concepts such as health, wellness, wellness program and wholeness. Failing to do so leaves us without direction and victim to whim, fancy and fad.
The World Health Organisation describes wellness as…
the active process of becoming aware of and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life…a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity
I like this definition and add that from my perspective that:
Wellness is a consciousness
A wellness program is that consciousness in motion
Balance, wholeness and health are the result of this consciousness & wellness program
A wellness program must include 3 key concepts:
1. improving the quality of the body
2. improving the quality of the conversation between the brain and the body
3. transitioning from crisis to creation/relaxation mode
Our wellness program uses the 5 ideas below, in a 2 dimensional manner to address these 3 key concepts

Using the Integrated Structural & Energy Technique, I.S.E.T., one that I developed over the past 26 years, my goals are restore balance by removing the effects of stress in the body.

The goal is to develop a wellness consciousness, one that helps limit the effect of stress on the body. This takes the form of 10 thought-provoking conversations.
